Advise the customer that this is a challenging question as different floor waxes could have been used and dust before or after waxing could enhance the streaking.
For most floors, we recommend the following treatment:
- Resweep the floor to eliminate dust that might scratch and cause more streaking.
- Mop the floor with a combination of liquid dish soap (like Dawn) and distilled water (a few drops of a squirt into a gallon of distilled water). Mop with the grain of wood, but work quickly so the wood does not absorb the soap solution (turning dark).
- Rinse the floor by mopping with a clean mop and just distilled water.
- Using a micro fiber cloth, buff the floor dry in the streaked area. Bamboo quality and waxes vary on floors.
